Q: How can I arrange a viewing of the hotel?
A: We welcome all couples to pop in anytime to meet with us. However we recommend you make an appointment with Sue Baldwin, our Wedding Consultant who will be able to meet at a time to suit you - even on the day of a wedding, so that you experience all that the hotel has to offer for your wedding day. Q: What are your minimum numbers for Weddings?
A: The minimum numbers for our Wedding Package is 120. However, more intimate wedding receptions are welcome and a venue hire fee will apply.
Q: Can I hold a date provisionally with you?
A: Absolutely, we can provisionally hold a date for a maximum of 2 weeks, after which time the date will automatically be released. If the hotel receives another enquiry for that date within these 2 weeks, the hotel shall contact the couple offering them first refusal. At this time a deposit will be required to confirm the date.
Q: How much is your deposit?
A: We require a €1000 booking deposit to confirm your wedding date. This is payable as a lump sum payment or in 2 instalments. We do offer flexibility with regards payment and you can pay as you choose along the way, a lump sum prior to the day or pay the balance in full on departure. On receipt of first payment we will issue you a confirmation letter along with a Wedding Contract which will need to be signed and returned to confirm your acceptance of the Terms and Conditions.
Q: Can we bring our own wine? Do you charge Corkage?
A: Yes you can bring your own wine if you choose. We charge corkage €8 per 75cl bottle of wine and €10 per 75cl bottle of sparkling/Champagne.
Q: Is the Bar Extension included?
A: The Bar Extension allows the bar until 1.30am and is included with all of our Wedding Packages. For more intimate gatherings, an additional charge will be added to your bill.
Q: Do you offer preferred accommodation rates for our Wedding Guests?
A: We have 40 luxurious guest bedrooms. We include the Bridal Suite and 2 rooms for your parents to stay for the night of your wedding (minimum numbers may apply). In addition 10 bedrooms are held for the night of your wedding at a preferred rate. These are automatically held once you confirm your date. Four weeks prior to your wedding date, any un-named rooms will be automatically released. If you require more rooms, we review on a case by case basis depending on our availability. Any additional rooms will be at the hotel rack rate.
Q: Is there additional accommodation close by as I have a large wedding?
A: Yes, there are B&B’s in the surrounding area which can accommodate your guests should you have a large number at your wedding.
Q: Do you cater for Civil Ceremonies on site?
A: Yes we have two indoor rooms - The Gallery can seat up to 50 Guests. Should you require a larger room, we can accommodate Civil Ceremonies in our Marina Room and turn the room around for your Wedding Reception Dinner afterwards (please allow 2.5 hours). Alternatively we can offer the deck outside for up to 160 guests where an additional set up fee applies.
Q: Will there be another Wedding on the same day as ours?
A: No, we have a “one wedding a day” policy
Q: Do you serve arrivals drinks outside if the weather is nice?
A: Absolutely! Out on the Waterfront Deck. What we tend to suggest is that we would keep a close eye on the weather forecast in the days leading up to your big day. Just bear in mind if it is a lovely day and your guests are outside the lobby may be empty when you arrive!
Q: When do we need to finalise our numbers with the hotel?
A: Numbers should be submitted to the hotel at least 2 weeks prior to the Wedding date. Final numbers are required 1 week prior to the date. Your Wedding Consultant will liase directly with you about seating plans and will make arrangements with you as a couple depending on your requirements.
Q: Can we use The Lord Bagenal Inn for our wedding day photographs?
A: Yes, you will have access to the deck overlooking the River Barrow. The Gallery (if available) can be used for intimate, indoor photographs. There is a courtyard area outside which can be used. The Lobby, glass staircase & Bridal Suite are ideal for capturing those memories. Within the surrounding village, The Garrison allow the use of their ruins and gardens for a fee payable to them. There is access to the walkway along the River Barrow, backdrop of the bridge in the village & picturesque Memorial Gardens.
Q: Is there parking available for Wedding guests?
A: Yes we have a large carpark area which can accommodate your Wedding guests.
Q: Do you provide a cake stand and knife?
A: Yes, we provide a cake stand depending on how many tiers your cake is. We also provide cake knife.
Q: Do you have a PA system available for speeches?
A: Yes we do have a PA system which you can use. If you wish to bring a playlist for during your meal please provide on USB stick.
Q: Do my wedding guests have to leave the room after meal whilst the band set up?
A: No. We do not ask guests to leave the room after the meal. We work around them in the room and whilst the band are setting up we will move tables from the dance floor as necessary.
Q: How far out can I do my Wedding Tasting?
A: We offer menu tastings on the 2nd Tuesday of each calendar month (excluding December) and by prior arrangement only.
Q: What is your Cancellation Policy?
A: In the event of a cancellation, charges will be applied to Food, Beverage, Bar Extension and Accommodation costs. Greater than 12 months from the wedding date - Non Refundable Deposit. Should you wish to postpone your wedding date, we can transfer your booking deposit to a new date within 12 months of the original date booked, with no penalty.
Q: Do you offer any options for Pre or Post Wedding Parties?
A: Yes we can offer a variety of options, whether it is Fork Buffet, Finger Food or Bar Food in the Lord Bagenal Bar, A la Carte or Dinner Menu in the Restaurant, BBQ or Pig on Spit on the Waterfront Deck, we have something to suit all.
Q: Do you offer any discounts for Winter Weddings / Midweek Weddings?
A: Yes, we offer a 15% discount off our brochure/package prices for weddings in January, February, March & November or for any Midweek dates. Minimum numbers apply. See our website and facebook for any special offers.
