Over the last 25 years The Lord Bagenal Inn has built on a reputation of fine food & excellent value. The Irish times writer's John & Sally Mckenna in their guide "The Best of Ireland (94)" summed up what diners can expect at the Lord Bagenal ~ "An excellent restaurant, offering great value".  This is one description The Lord Bagenal has tried to maintain from the first day of opening back some 25 years ago.  The menu at the Bagenal offers a wide variety of both International & Local cuisine, with a particularly wide selection of fresh seafood in season.   Les ROUTIERS award

The Lord Bagenal has also been Recommended in the Les Routers guide's for Britain & Ireland.  Where it received a hospitality award, "Warm welcome and comprehensive and interesting menu"; & also received a friendly family symbol.

The Lord Bagenal was highly commended in the Food & Wine Annual,  in the Section "Recipes from our favorite restaurants." December 2002.  All the team at the Lord Bagenal were greatly impressed with this accolade.

Oaked smoked SalmonAlso received a star rating in the Egon Ronay Guides to Pubs & Inns, the lord BagenalEgon Ronay's Guides was one of only eight awarded in Ireland.  Only 53 star ratings were awarded in Ireland & Britain.  A prestigious entry is also included in Egon Ronay's Callnet Guide for Hotels & Restaurants.  The Lord Bagenal has a constant commitment to keeping the restaurant menu fresh & current, by offering a host of varied and satisfying meals.  The menu is updated on a constant basis & offers  wide variety, which include variations like "Grilled Sirloin Steak with a Whiskey & Salami sauce; Spiced & honey roasted Half duckling; & Supreme of Chicken "Milano".  Dessert's & pastries are also widely available and are created to supplement your meal.

Baked Strawberry CheesecakeThe dessert & puddings menu is constantly updated but always manages to combine the old favorite's with new and fresh delights  like Black Forest Gateaux, Tirimasu, Chocolate Roulade, Hazelnut meringue gateaux and a host of other great ideas.  At any one time the lord Bagenal has close to 12 desserts available, ranging from chocolate & hazelnut gateaux to fruit filled Terrines.  A choice of value for everybody of all ages & tastes.

 

The main restaurant is filled with open hearth fires and traditional surroundings, accommodating up to eighty people it's ideal for intimate evenings, family get-together and business dinners.  Our smaller restaurant, the 'Peter collis' room is the perfect setting for private functions of up to forty people, ideal for christening, small weddings, retirement & business meetings.
